-Duke-

Arrived 06/112021
Breed:  Dachshund / Chi
Gender: Male
Age:  approximately 14 years
Weight:
Extremely overweight at 22lbs.
I expect a good weight will be about 13 lbs, but we will see.

Duke is a cool little man.  He love car rides and playing in streams.  He loves to have his blanket to curl up under.  He is cooperative and talkative.  He is so cooperative with everything we do.  He love pulling Neil in his wheel chair and has been helping Mookie with some long walks.  He is definitely on the overweight side of things, but he is doing great with diet and exercise and has lost about 2 pounds from his arrival.  He still has a few more to go.  He also appears to have some level of house training and is very well kennel trained for night times. Duke is a little man who would do great with a job.  He loves to pull things so using a leash to attach a light wagon to and he would make a great garden helper.  He is so cooperative and engaged.  He completely defies his 14 year age, of which we are certian, and has the energy and enthusiasm of a much younger boy.

You can find videos of Duke pulling Mookie and Neil in the wheel chairs here.

Adoption Application
The adoption application is required prior to setting up an appointment to meet the dogs.
Meetings are done by appointment only after a complete application is received and approved.  The application is a key part to the interview process so please give me thoughtful answers as yes/no responses may be eliminated for lack of detail.

Before proceeding with this application please note - we only place our dogs within the Pacific Northwest area, which includes, Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

We can be contacted at
Christy@DisplacedPetsRescue.com

Visits are by appointment only, after we have an approved application on-file.
Please do not call me for detail on a specific dog.  Those questions are dealt with by email.
This will allow me to stay focused on the work that I need to do in caring for these little guys.
Once I have reviewed your application I will be contacting you at the email you have included in the application.

Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.
