Message from the director - 12/30/2010  - As we close 2010 we are very pleased with the work we have done this year.  With 32 placements we feel that we have accomplished quite a lot.  For 2011 we want to expand what we are doing and are setting very aggressive goals of 60 placements and 4 family assist projects.  Understanding that this is a huge undertaking for such a small organization is very important.

It is your donations that are going to help us fund these efforts.  Just think 60 dogs that will have new wonderful forever homes in the next year.  No donation is to small and every penny counts.

In 2010 we successfully placed 32 rescues
Most are represented below

When the new owner has to have their hair colored to match her new best friend you know it is love!!!
These two were meant for each other.

-Caliando (aka Cal)-
Oregon Humane Society Rescue - Cal immediately made himself at home with his new family.

From Melodie, "We're doing great with our new best friend! here's a photo of Cal. My son calls him 'Dil' for some reason.  He sleeps in my bed and usually puts himself to bed by 9pm. Very funny guy. He gets lots of walking and we spend several hours at the park each week since my son likes to go to the skate park. He's getting used to all the excitement and being around boys, bikes and skateboards. It takes time to warm up to new people and yes, he loves to chase the cats and bark at them. Happily, we have no concerns with him and the chickens."

From Suzanne, "I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed having Amigo as a part of our lives
The adoption process was one of the easiest processes I have gone through. As a non-profit, it makes it more
affordable for pets to find new homes.   Amigo is healthy and happy and so are we."

Not sure Amigo appreciated the interruption here.

This is Amigo in his new home enjoying a hard day of doing nothing.

  -Iverson-
Iverson is destine to become Delta Certified.  He is in a home where he will be much loved.
Iverson was an owner surrender.

  -Tranquillo-
Tranquilo was an owner surrender and had been abused by some teen boys.

From Karen, "Tranquilo is an exceptionally beautiful Pomeranian, but he has a far more exceptional gift.  Tranquilo, as it turns out, has had a substantially beneficial effect on my health.  After Tranquilo's first few nights of loudly protesting being kenneled, he had convinced me that he belonged in my bed at night.  Moreover, he wanted to sleep cuddled up to my body with my arms around him!   I've had difficulty falling asleep all my life, but that is no longer a problem.  I fall asleep far more quickly while holding Tranquilo.  When I wake up, he is still in my arms, very sweet and affectionate.  I've had other dogs, even other dogs who slept in the bed with me, but only Tranquilo's presence in my arms puts me to sleep each and every night.  Dog adoption doesn't get any better than this!

Tranquilo sends you sweet, doggy kisses and thanks you for taking him in and rescuing him.  His health has improved, over the months, to the point where he can finally have his dental appointment next month.  Meanwhile, he has been busy growing coat, putting on weight, playing with my other Pomeranians, and making me a very, very happy owner.  Tranquilo and I thank you, most sincerely, for the wonderful work you do with the Rescue."

Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.
