-Sica-

Dear Christy,
I have emailed all my Christmas
greetings and you are the last.
I have been trying to think of
what I could write that could
express our thanks for Sica.
And, honestly, I do not think I
am eloquent enough.
What a pleasure and joy she is.
A big beautiful personality in
a very quiet little package.
She is a very special girl. It
is amazing to us, given how
shattered we were after losing
our Bailey, how in love with
Sica we are. And I am confident
in saying that Sica is a very
content and happy dog.
Health wise, her ears are vastly
improved and she recently had
her dental. We brought her to a
veterinarian dentist at City of
Angeles because we wanted to
make sure that she had the best
care possible. (Vets refer to
the facility as the "Mayo
Clinic" of Californian
veterinarian hospitals). They
ended up extracting 18 teeth and
since she was missing several
already, she has just a few
left. |
Luckily, she still has her K-9s.
She seems much more comfortable
now. And she can still chew her
favorite treat, which we came
upon completely by accident.
After rejecting a number of
offerings including liver,
chicken and salmon treats, one
day when I was preparing a
salad, I gave her a slice of
cucumber, fully expecting her to
reject it. She grabbed it out
of my hand, ran across the room
to her bed, leapt into it, and
happily ate it. Aside from the
three weeks after the dental,
she has been gleefully enjoying
them ever since. We find this
choice odd and completely
charming. Sica is completely
charming.
Thank you for allowing us to
adopt her.
We wish you and your family a
happy holiday season and all the
best in the new year.
Regards,
Carrie, Jerry, Ron & Sica |

Baxter is so quickly so much loved. His new family
will treasure him furever.
-Jazzy & Skippy-
We
were heart broken when we heard that our placement for Jazzy
and Skippy was not working out. Since they were closer
to Dorie at Pommy Country, she offered to take these two
guys on with her rescue. Thank you so much to
our friend Dorie at Pommy Country
Rescue in Canada. Jazzy and Skippy
are now in great forever homes.

Rescue in Canada.
-Robbie-
Robbie was a very frightened little guy. Being picked
up was the scariest thing ever. Robbie was fostering
with a friend who was working socialization and trust
building. As it became clear that Robbie was bonding
with this foster family they decided that they couldn't bear
to put him through another transition into a new home and
decided to "foster fail" and keep him for themselves.

-Tyson
aka Griffy-
Tyson
was a California Refugee. He came to us with a severe eye
infection and we ended up having to have one of his eyes removed
from the long term damage done.
04/04 Update
- Tyson has put on just a bit of weight since coming he
is a very healthy 9 pounds, when he arrived he was just
a bit over 8.5. He has really filled out well.
Yesterday we had to make the very tough decision to have
his eye removed. The affects of long term dry eye
and infection were just to much. He was blind in
the eye and it was critically enlarged ready to burst.
We are desperately seeking funds to cover his surgery.
The total cost was $581.88 and we are about half way
there in donations. See the donation above if you
would like to donate to help with Tyson's surgery.
04/08 Update
- Tyson's vet visit went very well. He got the OK
to leave the bandages off, much to his relief and mine.
I was getting tired of fighting him to get them back on.
Now he is flashing his "stitch monster face". We
believe he will be able to get his stitches removed on
the 16th. I didn't brush up his mug for the
pictures so he is looking a bit wooley.
4/16 Update
- Tyson's stitches were removed and he is doing great.
He went to his new home with Lesley today.

Ladybug was the last Pom from our

She came so far in a short time and had become a super sweet and
engaged girl. She will do great in her new home.

Crissy captured my heart while she was here. So much character
in a teenie tiny package.
Congratulations to Wendy on her new family member.

who's ears are bigger than his head :)
-Jada-
Jada

couldn't part with her and has adopted her.
I just love it when a perfect match is made.

-Connor-
Connor came to us as a death row California dog. He had many
marks against him along with being blind, he had an upper
respiratory infection, severe dental infections, a hernia and still
needed neutered. He spent many days at the Vet before he was
able to have his surgeries and dental cleaning. Thanks to the
help of Rhonda we saved him, in the nic of time. Rhonda
visited him at the Vet clinic every day through is stay. Once
he was able to travel, and arrived in Oregon he quickly won our
hearts. Finding just the right home for him took 6 months, but
the right one was there. Connor and Jane are now the best of
buddies and he will be spending many days under her feet while she
works.
